Common Questions

How long does a certified translation take?
It depends on the length of the text to be translated. As a rule, we translate 6 to 8 standard pages (1 standard page = 1,800 characters including spaces) per working day. The minimum turnaround time is 2 working days. Rush jobs can be arranged upon request.
What is an apostille and when do I need it?
An apostille attests to the authenticity of a notary’s signature for government agencies and courts in Hague Convention Member States. For non-Member States, legalisation is required for a consular apostille. See more about apostilles
Are there sworn translators in Switzerland?
There is no federal register of sworn translators in Switzerland. Some cantons operate their own systems (e.g. Geneva, Neuenburg). We would be happy to advise you on your specific case.
