An apostille is required whenever a certified translation needs to be used in another country that is a signatory of the Hague Convention. It certifies the authenticity of the notary’s signature and legalises the document for international use. Typical use cases include judicial and administrative proceedings, commercial register entries, residence permit and migration procedures, as well as academic and recognition procedures. The basis for any apostille is a properly certified translation bearing a company stamp and signature. The authenticity of the signature is certified by a notary.
The apostille is obtained from the competent state chancellery and confirms the authenticity of the notary’s signature.
The document can then be used in all Hague Convention Member States without further formalities.
A certified translation is provided with a certification confirming that it is accurate and complete. Such certification includes our official company stamp and a signature and can be notarised upon request. This ensures that the translation meets the legal requirements for submission to courts, government agencies and other official bodies in Switzerland.
An apostille is required whenever a certified document is intended to be used in a country other than Switzerland that is a signatory of the Hague Convention. The apostille confirms the authenticity of the notary’s certification and legalises the document for international use. We’ll take care of that whole procedure for you.
